Too Early for Sandwiches

@Lucca: Thanks, Beate! No, I didn't go later, though it's not too far from my house so I still could. The truth is that once upon a time, this was a simple diner. Then it was closed for many years with this same beautiful art-deco façade and a small sign in the doorway: 'restaurant not for sale'. Then the sign disappeared and it reopened still with the same look, but a much more expensive menu. See here. So in a sense, I'm too late for sandwiches.
