Toronto, they say is naturally a Black Oak Savannah ecosystem. On my street, I have to say there ain't much sign of it (and indeed humans have reduced it to .01% of its natural extent), but here's a rare view from today that could have been seen back when there were only trees.

Great solid clouds - looks almost like the tree branches are supporting them.

Thought it was a tree with lots of flowers in thumbnail, but ah, it's cloud. Beautiful colours and nice composition!

This is an incredible photo. The color and composition can't be improved. I'm very impressed and I'm so glad you gave us the chance to see what you saw. Thanks.

Love this composition and the colors. How comes very often you can see clouds with a similar shape of the trees in front?

I feel somehow sad looking at this. The muted colors are so great.

I like the part where u place the moon. Not too at the corner and with the big tree in the middle, almost a silhouette of it. With the clouds behind the tree, made the tree look taller.

A beautiful capture of the Moon.

Gorgeous shot, Damen. And fascinating reading... of course, out here we don't have oaks, too short a growing season I think.

You have captured lovely mood and light in this photo. Interesting reading as well. Thanks

Great composition and colours on this photo!...an earlier comment was that it had an air of sadness which is very perceptive and a tribute to your great photographic skills. To be able to evoke an emotional response with (or maybe because of ) something apparantely so simple is a true gift.

Wonderful image!

Lovely shot, Damon. The moon always looks overexposed when I try this kind of thing.

I like open space between sky and tree
