@Ralf Kesper: Thanks, Ralf! I can see that I misjudged the processing of this photo to some degree. By leaving his face somewhat visible I've made people feel sorry for him. Unfortunately (being the twisted person I am, I was hoping he'd look more menacing. I should have gone with my original impulse and left his face in blackness.

Poor guy, hate to see dogs like this in the city - but lovely capture, very multi-layered in terms of meaning (at least what I take away from it). Great photo, as usual.

This one's cool. I don't know about the placement of the grimm though, maybe leaving some of the foreground out would have made for a more dynamic scene, but it also does play out nicely seeing the environment it's in too.

@Chris Sullivan: Hard to say; I wanted him to appear on the dividing line between the bustling commercial area and the scary-looking alleyway, hence the framing. I did crop quite a bit, though. I might have done better. Thanks, Chris!
