Ralf Kesper from Attendorn, GermanyThis is not cerberus. This is a cute dog allone in a big city. I like this excellent streetshot. 17 Oct 2007 5:27am @Ralf Kesper: Thanks, Ralf! I can see that I misjudged the processing of this photo to some degree. By leaving his face somewhat visible I've made people feel sorry for him. Unfortunately (being the twisted person I am, I was hoping he'd look more menacing. I should have gone with my original impulse and left his face in blackness. lasiate from Philippineschien perdu sans collier. il a l'air bien malheureux dans cette ambiance grise 17 Oct 2007 9:46am @lasiate: Merci, lasiate! Mais la verité est que il n'est pas perdu. @Paulo Santos: Many thanks, Paulo! Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOh la la...maybe it's cujo? Poor thing, he looks lost 17 Oct 2007 11:02am @Lorraine: Don't worry; he's fine. Actually he belongs to the guy selling illegal DVDs on the sidewalk just out of frame. sohrab hosseini from tehran, Iransmells like the solitude of a big city. this dog must find a job ! 17 Oct 2007 11:42am @sohrab hosseini: Thanks, Sohrab! Actually I think he has a job. @maivju:z: Many thanks, Shadow! Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiahaha...I wish i could talk to him so I can talk to him about his great adventurous experiences ! 17 Oct 2007 3:28pm @Kheoh Yee Wei: He might have a few stories to tell. Thanks, Kheoh! Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomExcellent Damon - I love your sense of humour! 17 Oct 2007 4:30pm @Ian Bramham: Many thanks, Ian! bm from Budapest, HungaryPoor guy, hate to see dogs like this in the city - but lovely capture, very multi-layered in terms of meaning (at least what I take away from it). Great photo, as usual. 17 Oct 2007 4:36pm @bm: Thanks for the kind words, BM! Don't worry about the dog. I think he's (reasonably) well cared for - not lost. @Yanle: :) amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaFabulous capture!! I love love love how you've done this whole image. 18 Oct 2007 1:32am @amy: Thanks, so much, Amy! @Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Thanks, Alfredo! @Coriander: Careful, his owner might not like that. Thanks, Coriander! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaThis one's cool. I don't know about the placement of the grimm though, maybe leaving some of the foreground out would have made for a more dynamic scene, but it also does play out nicely seeing the environment it's in too. 20 Oct 2007 12:53am @Chris Sullivan: Hard to say; I wanted him to appear on the dividing line between the bustling commercial area and the scary-looking alleyway, hence the framing. I did crop quite a bit, though. I might have done better. Thanks, Chris! |
