Ok, here's how the theme thing's going to work. I want it to be open to anyone, but there's a catch: if you comment on my photos in the next couple weeks, I'll send you the details (Aminus3 members only naturally). Then once you have them, you can pass them along to anyone who comments on your photos. This way, we can play a fun game of whispers, and see what we come up with at the end. Of course, you can let me know if you're not interested.
High-res here.

I'm in Damon! Really like the depth of field in this shot. Nice tones and contrast too.

@Daroru: You are in - and you should have the details by now. Many thanks, Daroru!
Was wondering why you didn't crop out some of the dude on the right, and then figured out the joke. hihihi, you nailed the tones, contrasts and depth of field on this one!

@Maoya: :) Well I had to cheat a bit on the shallow DOF, but glad you liked it. Thanks, Maoya. I want to see lots of pics from that new K10D; your first one was a stunner!!!
very nice ! :)

@H.O: Many thanks, Hiro!
I'll play - what's the whisper today? Nice shot - leather jacket ? only b & w does justice to leather!

@Sidonie: You may be right, although the jacket was an interesting maroon colour. Thanks, Sidonie, and you should have received the whispered details.
I'm in too Damon! The woman figure was contrasted well and appealing in this image ! Well done

Instantly reminded me of Taxi Driver. It's amazing how someone can look so alone in a street so full of people, poignant shot Damon.

@Chris Sullivan: Wow, I never thought of that, but I agree: there's a strong similarity. Thanks, Chris!
Lovely shot, really nice and subtle blurring to really emphasise the subject. Digging the lighting here too. very powerful shot, with the subjects eyes locked on the lens. oh yeah..im in.

@Duncan Galbraith: Thanks, Duncan! She looks like someone who's way you wouldn't want to impede. Of course you're in - and you should have received by now the info.
The processing here is superb.. The blur adds a sense of loneliness to your subject. Really a great one. (I'm in too.)

@Nick Passantino: Thanks, Nick! I did enjoy that isolated look. You should have the theme details in your in box.
this is lovely, damon.

@drew: Many thanks, Drew!
Yes...yes...yes. Love this one Damon. Very professional look here. Could be out of a fashion magazine. Great b&w and lighting, and a crafty title too. Top work.
Count me in too!

@Stu: Many thanks, Stu! She really was facing south (and the North Face guy was facing north). You should have your assignment in your inbox :-)
Fab street shot. So often these shots are pretty ordinary but this has got so much going on behind too - the guy in the wheelchair- the couple chatting. Nice capture.
Count me in too - not sure what to just yet but it sounds fun!

Awesome DOF. Really great shot!

I like the focus treatment. Kind of cinematic, really, how she's isolated from the scene around her. The rest of the world is a blur because it really doesn't matter...it's not in the story.

I like this shot!

Wow, I came across your photos because I was searching for links to the Bike Pirates group....I'm a bike pirate with a soul to pass on. I am about to leave Toronto after 11 years here. I had to comment, because I'm very thankful i found your site. you really capture the flavour of this city. it's the grit and squalour and art and magic that we all love, but can't quite put into terms to the outsider. thank you. kb
