I like this shot very much - but I certainly don't miss Toronto (go Leafs go though)

@Art Monkey: I won't tell Toronto you're dissing her. Thanks though, A.M.!
Stunning. Love the contrast.

@Sujit: Many thanks, Sujit!
Lots of grain in this shot, Damon...but I love the composition, so all is forgiven!

@Bronnie: Whew, that was close... Thanks, Bronnie! I kinda liked the grainy look :-)
cool processing here. Reminds me a little of imagery used by Wim Wenders. The colours are great, yet subdued and quite earthy.

@Duncan Galbraith: Hey thanks, Duncan! I took this image knowing I liked the scene but unsure exactly why. It just had that look. And of course that's a goal of mine, to elevate the mundane into the sublime. I don't know if I succeeded, but I was really pleased with the way the processing turned out - if only I can duplicate it again sometime - I'm sure the late afternoon light had much to do with it.
wow, love the dramatic-ness of this photo. the lines do wonders for it as well (: great job!

@Alicia: Many thanks, Alicia!
I can feel the chill in the air despite the sun - the colors are sharp too, as is the central focus on the electricity structure. BTW, I followed your high res link to Picasa. Do you have a blogspot page as well for your high res? I've just set up a blogspot blog specifically to load some of my originals - I have tweaked the Simple Themes Blogger template a little, and I load the high res as small to fit four in the one post - click on the small ones, and the originals load fast with very good reproduction, and according to Google these Blogger pics will be automatically transferred to your Picasa albums. Anyway, to see what I'm talking about, go to Lakeside[/b] at http://canberralakes.blogspot.com/.

@Zak Billmeier: I like it! Thanks, Zak!
I love urban shots like this. Captures well the sense of barrenness just before spring really arrives---in other words the mood is excellent.

@Sylvia: Thanks, Sylvia! I was trying to go for a mood encompassing both gloom and hope.
Damon, great shot.. The clouds provide an excellent backdrop
