Behrooz from Tehran, IranNow this is another excellent shot! 26 Feb 2007 7:08am @Behrooz: Many thanks, Behrooz! I enjoy very much seeing your images of Tehran. Sylvia from Milano, ItalyFantastic! Great framing, and COLD. So what street is it? 26 Feb 2007 8:40am @Sylvia: Mille grazie, Sylvia! I was on Shaw, but the sign (for the cross street) said Bloor underneath all that snow. Not even that cold, more wet than cold. @Makoto: だいじょうぶですよ! The temperature isn't that low these days. Stu from Kyoto, JapanWhat a scene! There's been practically zero snow fall here this year. I'm quite disappointed as I really wanted to visit Kenrokuen in Kanazawa. Wouldn't be too happy with the arctic-like snow drifts you have to deal with though! 26 Feb 2007 1:42pm @Stu: Thanks, Stu! We have had much less snow this year than normal as well, but what we've had has stuck around. Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandWonderful shot especially for the snow-deprived (not that I'm complaining seeing as it's supposed to be summer!). Hope you found your way all right. A unusual angle, and great composition. 26 Feb 2007 5:47pm @Bronnie: Many thanks, Bronnie! No problem here. I'm enjoying it! Lyndsey Le from Houston, TX, United StatesGreat snow capture here, Damon! Looks as if it's black and white. BTW, are the power lines still functioning okay? :) 26 Feb 2007 8:33pm @Lyndsey Le: Thanks, Lyndsey! It is black and white. I desaturated it, not that I could really tell the difference. Power continues to flow. @Still: Many thanks, Still! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaLiking this weather series...takes my mind of this ridiculous heat 26 Feb 2007 11:38pm @Chris Sullivan: Thanks, Chris! Tell you what: let's switch weather for a day... @Lucca: Many thanks, Lucca! @William: Many thanks, William! @jc: Cheers, John! @Untitled: Many thanks, Shadow! Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanOsaka is remarkably similar but for different reasons...they have street signs approximatley every 100 blocks ;). Good luck out there...hope your camera doesnt freeze to death. 28 Feb 2007 2:51pm @Duncan Galbraith: Thanks, Duncan! No danger of freezing, although I did have to put it away shortly after taking this one because so much snow was falling - and melting - on it. I find that in general it's best to navigate Japanese cities using spidey-sense, as streets often don't even have names let alone marked names. Last summer, my son carried a compass, and that was invaluable on our excursions. @Jesus: Gracias, Jesús! |
