Lunar Life

I swear, sometimes it feels like I'm walking on another planet when ice invades the ground. Also, I was tempted to click "yes" on the new "Adult" button when I uploaded this one...

Ok, this time I promise I'm done with snowy shots for awhile. Back to the underground tomorrow.

The shadow of the tree and footprints are also amazingly beatiful. Fantastic work.

Such a simple scene yet with alot of depth. Those lights in the background and the few visible roof-tops add another dimension to it. Alot more to explore in this pic than on the moon I imagine. A lovely shot.

@Stu: Thanks, Stu! Perhaps more to explore, but it does feel lunar walking on that crusty snow... Now that I think about it, how the heck would I know what walking on the moon feels like?

SImple and elegantly beautiful. I'm assuming this is a night shot? Although, looking at the EXIF data it might just be a very well processed day shot. I love the depth of your darks here and the contrast they make with the ice and snow on the ground. The shadows of the tree are lovely as well, really compliment the composition.

@Paul Ricciardi: Yes, it was a night shot. I struggle to find enough light to shoot with in these dark days when it's night more than day. The reason for the odd tree shadow is that the tree is quite tilted for reasons I cannot fathom, and a streetlight shines directly at its crown casting the shadow right at its base.
