H.O from Victoria, Canadayou made it ! Cool shot again Damon-san. Nice b&w image. 11 Jan 2007 7:46am @H.O: Thanks, Hiro! I'm really attracted to colours, but when they don't add value for me, when I prefer stressing light and form, B&W is it! @Stu: Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, Stu! Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanMan, we both get a walk by up on the same day...must be fate trying to tell us something I reckon. Yours batters mine into submission though. The stride of the gent (man he's got some purpose!), the beat up yet really quite beautiful van (Im a sucker for anything old) and the sign, which seems to be saying what it sees. If it had eyes that is. Which I dont think it has. 11 Jan 2007 10:47am @Duncan Galbraith: Thanks, Duncan! No battering, needed: I'm sure all our pedestrians can get along without resorting to violence. I was actually photographing the van. I circled it, tried it from many angles and so on, but yeah, this is the one were the magic happened. Martin from Krems, AustriaA timeless shot. The b&w is very good and the blur of the man passing by excellent. That van looks antique itself. It all goes so well together. Great photo. 11 Jan 2007 3:29pm @Martin: Thanks, Martin! The van was antique in a way. Loved your thermometer today by the way. @Craiger: Many thanks, Craiger! @Martine Lapointe: Merci, Martine! @Kerstin: Thanks, Kerstin! objectif-plume from Belgiumla combinaison du tout fait que cette photo est absolument magnifique 11 Jan 2007 7:07pm @objectif-plume: Merci, O.P. I'm trying to capture the wit of Cartier-Bresson. Maoya from Rolle, SwitzerlandThat guy is on a mission! He makes a nice opposition with the antiques. 11 Jan 2007 7:48pm @Maoya: Thanks, Maoya! He's on a mission, I think, to get out of the way of my camera. jc from Irelandlove all the elements here playing together, Damon. and it's fresh to see such a shot taken from this position - ie without the building facades behind, but rather from the buildings out across the sidewalk. i feel like the guy should have a for sale sign around his neck as well. great stuff! 11 Jan 2007 9:56pm @jc: Thanks a lot, John! I hadn't really thought of the perspective as unique. I suppose it might be different from usual. As I mentioned to Duncan, my intent was to photograph the van, and the antique shop was at my back. You're completely on a roll with your excellent Ginza night shots. Still from Valence, FranceI like the humorous touch of this one! Really enjoying! 11 Jan 2007 10:11pm @Still: Thanks, Still! Sometimes random things can be so funny. Sébastien from Toulouse, FranceDespite my very little experience in photography, I think I can say that it is a Very nice composition. 11 Jan 2007 10:25pm @Sébastien: Thank you, Sébastien! He was doing the robot; looking like he wanted to get out of my way ;-) Mammoth in Chief from Naperville, United StatesVery nice capture od movement. Great shot for B&W... 11 Jan 2007 11:26pm @Mammoth in Chief: Thanks, Mammoth! Great to see you creating again. William from United StatesLooks like you captured an antique theme. Movement in this is well created. 11 Jan 2007 11:31pm @William: Many thanks, William! Craig Persel from Montreal, CanadaLove this. For sale, antiques, man walking... great elements and composition. 12 Jan 2007 7:00pm @Craig Persel: Many thanks, Craig! It's simple, but everything seemed to fit. |
