Happy New Year / Feliz año nuevo / あけましておめでとう / Bonne Année / Prost Neujahr / Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku / Felicxan Novan Jaron
To start off the new year, I'm presenting a series of three photos of the same man. What does he represent? I'm not sure... Call him Captain Canada, or the Cat in the Hat. Is he alone? Is he connected? Has he lived a good life? Will you be able to say you have? Will any of us?

@Raine: Thanks, Raine!
Happy New Year Damon Perhaps this man is a portrayal of the wise old man archetype.

@Jason Kravitz: Thanks, Jason! I really like your idea of the "wise old man". Very interesting article. Let's call him Senex, then.
Nice .. I like taking pictures of random people at the subway ;) This is a good one!

@zombiefredrik: Thanks, Fredrik! Gott nytt år!
Happy new year indeed Damon. Im gonna most look forward to where this goes. As for the existensialist conundrum above...oooerrr thats a scary question in itself. Im too scared to answer to be honest. Lets just say I try. The angle makes this..it looks like he's gonna against the grain, a trier, a pusher, a modern day Atlas himself. Im right in the middle of New Years party number 2 by the way and have reached the conclusion that under the influence is not a good time to type. All the best! (hic!)

@Duncan Galbraith: Thanks, Duncan! Glad you (and others) liked the angle. It was of course, accidental, but I swear I wasn't drunk at the time. However, I am looking forward to that glass of Glenlivet, though it'll probably be even better aged than it already is by the time I get there; I won't blame you if your patience wears thin.
I like captain canada.

@H.O: Thanks, Hiro! Looking forward to a good year for all of us.
i wonder if i passed your lonely stranger on yonge this morning, and if i had would i have noticed, looked again, wondered, as in your caption, about how fleeting our lives end up being no matter how many years they stretch across. happy new year.

@drew: Ah well, we can't think that everytime we see a stranger, now can we? There was just something about this man, though... Thanks, Drew! E veryone: you should check out Drew's work: really cool stuff.
Great shot and composition Damon. I look forward to the rest of the series. Prost Neujahr.
