OldsmobilePosted by Damon Schreiber (Toronto, Canada) on 15 December 2006 in Transportation and Portfolio. Kuribayashi Petri f=3.5cm 2.8 MX Continuing the series of emulated images. This will explain what I'm talking about. I'd like to point out that over this week of tributes, absolutely nobody has made a mistake in identifying the person I was paying tribute to. I'm fairly certain this will be no exception. Great work everyone; I know I had a lot of fun. Have a nice weekend ! :)

H.O from Victoria, CanadaGreat work Damon ! I mean not only this post you gave us great relationship thank you very much !! :) P.S Wow,you have nice Camara and good choice Konica Pan :-o 15 Dec 2006 5:34am @H.O: Thanks so much, Hiro! It was a lot of fun to try one like yours. We don't have as many older cars in Toronto as you do in Vancouver, I think, because of the harsher winters. They turn into rust faster. But this car was just parked on my street one morning as I was walking ot the subway station. My Kuribayashi Petri sits behind me on a shelf most of the time. And my first camera was a Konica FC1 that I really loved. So I thought I'd honour Konica by "using" their film. I really used my G3 for this shot. Jason Kravitz from Brussels, BelgiumI was thinking H.O. myself before I saw his comment :) Damon - I have really enjoyed this series over the last week. You have created something truly imaginative and inspiring. It's amazing to see Aminus3 branch off in so many directions as each member adds their own unique imprint on our community. Thanks!! 15 Dec 2006 10:36am @Jason Kravitz: Thanks so much, Jason! You must look on as a proud papa as this community grows and develops. I'm really amazed myself - even in the short time I've been posting - how much it's grown and developed. That's been my inspiration. emarquetti from Itajai, BrazilWooooa! You let me back 70´s, I can hear somebody listening out of volume Led Zeppelin in that house... 15 Dec 2006 12:12pm @emarquetti: Thanks/Obrigado, EMarquetti! I was thinking of Deep Purple's "Highway Star". Prashanth from Bengalooru, IndiaWow!! thats wonderful photos of emulated series... beautiful work... 15 Dec 2006 12:25pm @Prashanth: Thank you very much, Prashanth! Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanA great end to a great series. H.O is a most worthy subject. Wish I'd put beers on this as I was saying from day one he'd undoubtedly be on the list. Wonderful work. Damon. I propose you revisit this idea in the future. Its a tremendous concept. I'm giving you a standing ovation right now. 15 Dec 2006 12:42pm @Duncan Galbraith: (takes a bow) Thanks so much, Duncan! It's a little exhausting to try on so many unique and wonderful styles, but we'll see what the future holds. @ali: After! I think it's a 1972 442 Oldsmobile. Thanks, Ali! @Angry Buddha: Much appreciated, Sean! Stu from Kyoto, Japanwonderful shot, great tribute to Hiro, and a really wonderful idea damon. so glad you did it. good on you mate. 15 Dec 2006 2:59pm @Stu: Thank you thank you thank you, Stu! Loving your images of Bali; That lizard was incredible. Shadow Mountains from Kyoto, JapanThoroughly enjoyed this series Damon. A totally inspired and worthwhile idea that we have all enjoyed immensely. Most of all, we should all thank you for the time and effort it took to put the series together and to keep us guessing and entertained! (Oh! and this H.O. emulation is great!) 15 Dec 2006 3:00pm @Shadow Mountains: Glad it was as as entertaining for you as it was for me, Shadow! It was definitely a lot of work, mentally at least, and I'll be glad to slip back into my own self! Maoya from Rolle, SwitzerlandBeautiful shot tribute. Cars like that don't exist over here. I like the reflexions of the tree. 15 Dec 2006 4:48pm @Maoya: Thanks, Maoya! Yes a few of these dinosaurs continue to roam this earth, sucking up the bones of their ancestors. micki from United StatesOh my gosh!! When this popped up I immediately thought of my very dear friend H.O.!! What a fabulous idea this was; very creative and a wonderful challenge for yourself! I must check the rest of the week's posts this evening. 15 Dec 2006 5:17pm @micki: Thanks, Micki! It was fun to honour H.O.-san! Martine Lapointe from Québec, CanadaDear Damon, a "master touch" again! Everythings are the; the subject, the model of camera and "Have a nice week end". You have "eye of lynx" for emulation! But don't forget your own style, we love it! 15 Dec 2006 5:36pm @Martine Lapointe: Merci beaucoup, Martine! JS from Brookline, United StatesNow, if people were going to imitate Damon's style, would they photograph shops (butcher or vegetable), subways, motley crowds, old buildings, leaves in compelling patterns, singers, or all of the above? Would they use macro lenses or panoramic views? How can you capture the style of a man with so many styles?Devilishly tricky .... 15 Dec 2006 8:16pm @JS: Why bother trying? But thanks, I guess! @Janni: Thank you, Janni! Kelvin Chan from New York City, United StatesThanks for the comment Damon. This is a wonderfully exposed picture. The angle is very intriguing. Great job. 16 Dec 2006 2:30am @Kelvin Chan: Thanks so much, Kelvin. wanganeges from concord, ma, United Statesgreat b/w and angle ... i used to drive an olds ... 16 Dec 2006 10:48am @wanganeges: Thanks, Wanganeges! I don't drive, but it looks like a good ride. @Craig Persel: Certainly! Thanks, Craig. |
