Ok, here goes... This week, unti Friday, The Electroblog will be paying homage to other members of Am3, to photographers who have consistently inspired me with their own unique styles. Of course five days only leaves room to emulate five photographers, so don't feel left out it you're not among them. But if you are, rest assured that I'm doing this with the utmost respect and admiration. Imitation is after all the highest form of flattery, they say. I've often enjoyed writing in the style of someone else, and this time I thought I'd challenge myself to create images in someone else's style. So I picked five who have consistently shown a unique style and who do good and often incredible work and whose style I feel I could at least attempt to make a stab at imitating.
On to the subject. I shot this at my bedside table one evening. The Tiger Balm lid was making these great reflections on the book that was sitting there. Do these two subjects go together? Not sure. I'll leave that as an exercise to the viewer. Buddha is series of Manga books by the incredible Tezuka Osamu. They tell the story of the life of Siddhartha (who became Buddha) using Tezuka's characteristic action, multiple story lines and incredible humour. I thoroughly recommend the English translation.
Ok, long captions are definitely in the style of the artist I'm working in the style of, so who is it?

@wanganeges: Thank you! I've been mulling this over for awhile, collecting suitable photos... Great work today as usual, Wanganeges.
wahey...Im taking a stab right away..the marvellous macro work of Jenny? If not then fair enough. I'm guessing Jenny due to the fact she's personally inspired me to try more macro work (the results so far have been most unfruitful). Jenny not only manages to achieve greater clarity within her images but also arrange the scene in a most asthetically effective manner. Im referring primarily to her choice of backdrops with which to set her emphasis whatever needs emphasising, whether it be a colour, tone, shape etc.. And of course the long captions are another giveaway. Jenny's commentary is always appreciated as is the lowdown above. Went to the Tezuka museum just the other day actually Damon, purchased a rather fine BlackJack tie, but I digress...Jenny it is!?!?!?

@Duncan Galbraith: Oh, yes of course you're right. And you're absolutely correct in your praise for her work. This shot was actually what started the idea for the series. I took it and later when I reviewed, I was thinking This looks kind of like one of Jenny's ... hmmm...
I went to Takurazuka during the heat of the summer and the family and I (all big fans) visited the museum as well. Great fun. I didn't buy anything in the gift shop, though there was lots of good stuff The tie sounds good, but I hate ties and no one here would get it. Don't laugh, but there's a photo of me somewhere, from the time I dressed up as Blackjack one hallowe'en years ago. I got at lea st one gasp of horror.
Excellent idea to imitate other Am3 member styles. Really looking forward to how this turns out! For this shot, I'd probably say Jenny but you've brought your own unique twist to it so it's hard to judge. Cool pic though.

@Aaron Schmidt: Thanks, Aaron! Stay tuned.
*sends a letter*
Ahaha, this is a really good idea - I think we should all try and do it or something (at least for experimenting and behaviour :P).
I thiiiink, it's me. :P At least Duncan (thankyou, Duncan. :D) and Aaron have confirmed it.. and of course your comment from before.
On the picture, I agree with Aaron - you've added your own unique twist and element and I like it. :)

@Jenny: Well, Jenny, you win simply because you're you! Glad it wasn't the howler.

@Jenny: Ho ho ho!
Fantastic idea mate!! I look forward to the game!! I'd love to see how well you can imitate your inspired photograpers and add your own spin to it. I love this shot...the composition is very pretty!!

@Colour blind: Thanks, Kelly! I feel a bit unsure, working in someone else's style, but it is fun. Strangely, I don't know if I have a style of my own anymore. It probably would take someone else to define it. By the way, your two (so far) Fuji-san shots have been stellar. Go back with your new camera, would ya?
I was hoping it was me, but Jenny's work is tremendous. Great tribute.
