[except that they don't sell cards]

This photo kind of bugs me... I took it at sunset, and I do like the lighting, but the composition is one that I'm not particularly proud of. Still a fruit shop series it is. Come back tomorrow; I promise the fruit will be fresher then.

Shadow Mountains from Japan

Like it. Like the way the sunset lighting works. The graffiti artists are more brazen and agile than they are over here anyway. Was interested to hear you enjoyed the Moriyama links. Thanks for the feedback recently. Will wait for tomorow's finished product.

@Shadow Mountains: Like the guys who put up the letters on movie theatre marquees I never see the grafitti artists. I have mixed feelings about all the grafitti I've been documenting, but yes, one must admire their stealth and agility. Ninja artists, really. I'd like to see that Moriyama photo book; I'll see if I can dig one up around here. Thanks for your comments, Shadow!

The lighting is great, the shadows really come into play. You mention you're not particularly proud of the composition but it's difficult to give an exterior overview AND come up with something compositionally unique...I mean you're limited to your surroundings and you use them the best you can, other than climbing the nearest streetlight and firing off shots from 20feet up, I cant really suggest any other solution to what I dont personally see as a problem.

@Duncan Galbraith: Aw, thanks, Duncan. If I'd spent more time shooting, I might have gotten a better angle - that traffic light blocking the sign bothers me - but as it was, I was just on the way home from a shopping trip so laden with bags, and with a none-too-patient family, I just took a quick snap or two to catch the light of the setting sun.

@JS: Think that would have helped? I think I was across the street though, so arranging the shoppers for my photographic whim would have been interesting. Bet they would have been surprised.
