Darren from Tokyo, JapanNice night shot there. Cool 1second shot to get the passing traffic. 5 Dec 2006 6:02am @Darren: Thanks Darren. It didn't turn out quite as well as I would have hoped, but you get something of the idea. Zach Siebert from Bologna, Italyever thought about using a cross screen filter for these night shots? it would add a new element to the lights which i am sure you'd like. coool shot with the jeep. fun cars. 5 Dec 2006 8:06am @Zach Siebert: Hmm... That's an idea. I'm not sure. In any case, the lens on my little Canon G3 doesn't have threads for filtres. I'll think about this when I'm using an SLR again. Thanks, Zach. @navin: Wow, thanks, Navin! I wish the image really did deserve such praise. @Craiger: Hey, thanks, Craiger. I'm glad. @Fallenargo: Damn low shutter speed! :-) JS from Brookline, United StatesIt's like the Van Gogh picture "Starry Night," only all the stars are man-made. 5 Dec 2006 2:16pm @JS: Thanks, Jan! Yes we don't get many real stars here, especially on overcast nights like this one. I did like the repitiion of the starburst from the streetlams and the neon palm trees, so I suppose there's a little similarity. Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanI love the motion blur. very dynamic. especially as it forms a nice contrast with the foreground vehicles. 5 Dec 2006 2:20pm @Duncan Galbraith: Thanks, Duncan. I lke the traffic signals here obliquely telling their story: the walk sign is illuminated, but no one is walking; the red light shines above stopped vehicles that can't see it. @Angry Buddha: Heh, it does look like a night for pizza, though, doesn't it? This is actually the "club district" in Toronto, and I think the Pizzaville there serves as a pit stop for revelers in need of a little nutrition. Thanks, oh Angry one, and I love your bridge shot today. @badala: Thanks, Badala! Mommith in Chief from Naperville, United StatesVery interesting scene, though I think you slightly moved your hand... But, still, I like it. 5 Dec 2006 9:27pm @Mommith in Chief: Thanks, Mammoth; you're absolutely right. I couldn't get this completely free of motion (my motion) blur, but hey! Whadda ya gonna do? @Still: Merci beaucoup, Still. If you're liking the night, check out tomorrow's post. By the way, your crane photo is fantastic! Martin from a small village in Lower Austria, AustriaI really like your dynamic night and traffic shots, cool composition and colours. 6 Dec 2006 9:30pm @Martin: Many thanks, Martin. I'm really enjoying your Ireland photos. |
