@Peggy: Yes, it's moss. (Unless it's lichen; I'm a bit confused between the two.)

Thanks for you comments, I agree that there's something to be found in every location...and I'm working on finding all the subjects that I can where I am at. It's just a matter of adjustment for me, being a visual artist I'm used to being able to picking up a pen or a paintbrush and making whatever I want. But I know in the long run having slightly more challenging subjects now will make me a better photographer and thinker.
And cute picture, I love the title.
