Excellent stuff Damien. This was shot behind Tenryuji? very nice movement through the frame, the path the bamboo, bamboo fence, and the people. very nice indeed.

@Duncan Galbraith: Thank you for your kind words. Yes, it was in the bamboo grove in Arashiyama near Tenryuji. I really enjoyed my day there in August in the 37 degree heat. Go see the monkeys. It's worth the climb.
I don't know why but this picture just works for me. I like the grain on the people. The way the light falls onto the scene. Great shot!

I like this one as well, but there is quite a bit of noise. Was that intentional?

@oot skoot: Yes, I added the grain. It had something to do with wanting the darker, mysterious look that that it provided, and something to do with masking a bit of blurriness in the foreground subject.
When I visited Arashiyama it was very chilly, and by the time I got here it was twilight. There were street lights that started coming on, no people around, and it was very mysterious... I felt like I was in a Ghibli movie; Totoro or Spirited Away...
