Thank you all for your kind words. This was an example where cropping the original added so much. It isn't HDR, though I did do quite a bit of post-processing to enhance the mood. At this point it's almost too contrasty for my taste.

There are nice pictures and there are magical pictures.... this one is magical... I think the contrast works here very well - this picture would suck if it was any softer (a side from composition)

@akash: Many thanks, Akash! This is the first image on this site that I really took the trouble to work over to make it present well on the web. I kind of thought I overdid it at the time, but the response was so positive, that I've kept at it.
