Revue 1

Posted by Damon Schreiber (Toronto, Canada) on 29 June 2006 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The late lamented Revue Cinema one day before closing. May it rise again.

from http://www.savetherevue.com: "The movie theatre now known as the Revue was constructed by May 1912 for the Suburban Amusement Company Ltd. and renamed the Revue Theatre by 1917. This is according to the City of Toronto’s tax assessment rolls... From its inception until June 2006, the Revue never closed its doors, making it one of the oldest continuously running movie theatres in Canada."

The Revue was shut down finally on 30 June, 2006. As of Feb. 2007, there's still some hope it may open again, but nothing concrete.
